back from hols

Well ’tis already the 1st of May tomorrow, and coming back from an exciting break in Quercy (Dordogne and Lot area), I was pleased to see that the garden hadn’t suffered too much from the great heatwave we had over the past weeks.
Now, who remembers heat storms happening in April ? We had two storms with lightning and thunder, hard and brief pouring of rain this week. It felt like August really !

At the back of the pond, this is what can be seen here at Botanic Bay :

Alliums are the peak of the planting scheme at the moment,
after we were amazed at how the acers have unfolded again this year.
They have certainly gained consistence and strength from having left their container and found root in the pond bedding.

Oh, and by the way, Botanic Bay is proud to announce the arrival of Sally du Quercy very soon,
our very own border collie puppy, born on March the 30th…

which means she is one month old today !
We found her in a sheep farm near Rocamadour, together with mum Chloe and 7 little sibblings. What a sight !
We can’t wait to introduce her to our other furry and clawy creatures… les chats !
