Two people

Next to my classroom, there is a pond, and next to the pond, there is an everchanging scene.
In January, two people appeared,
They made me feel like stopping from the routine  and having a talk with some students.
As I had the amazing experience to take a group of students to Madagascar last November,
I suggested we could talk about : trips as experiences that change you”.
So we sat down and they told me their story.
Malcolm :
Everytime you move, you get to grow. You learn new beliefs. There is no rush, you take it easy. I’ve lived in the States and in Russia thanks to my dad, and from there I was able to travel everywhere.
But now I’m 19, and I feel I need to get a life, and to start with a job. That’s why I’m studying landscape design.
Deep down I want to get out of France in order to come back in a better state of mind.”
Baptiste :
“Last year I spent 4 days in London. It was an amazing experience. I was going through a bad time in my life ; I needed to change my habits. The trip was planned one week before I went. I got a phone call : ‘Will you come ?”, and I was off.
It was a cultural trip. I went with an English teacher, and we visited museums, we saw the musical “Wicked”. I didn’t think I would understand much. But I sat close to the stage and I had a good view of the actors. I like theatre, I was an actor for 2 years in an amateur group and I learnt self confidence from that.
We visited the Globe, we went to the pub, I had a fag outside and an Englishman talked to me, we chatted for an hour. I found it easy, and I thought : “Yes I can !”. Shortly after I passed my A-levels easily !”
Romain :
“My only experience is a trip to Scotland 4 years ago, when I was 15. We visited Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness. It was a family trip and we saw beautiful landscapes.”
