Winter flowering

‘live’ from Hervé’s Garden.
Walking through my winter garden covered in snow, I looked at what flowers could be found.
Flowering started early in December and is going to last for several weeks.

This bush has yellow bells with a dark red centre. The flowers look down so that they are better sheltered from the cold. The petals are thick to ensure better protection. Neither the cold nor the snow can harm them.
As soon as it gets less cold, they smell gorgeous of honey. That’s why I planted the bush near my kitchen. Its name is Chimonanthus praecox.
